Angus is on the lookout for a forever home that knows the score with German Shepherds. He needs a savvy owner who understands the quirks of a rescue dog – especially one who's had a rough go of it, and our Angus has had a bit of a tough start – poor fella's been through a lot. But he’s got so much love to give; he just needs that chance to feel safe and suss out the domestic life again. With a bit of patience and a few belly rubs, you'll see him shine.
This lad is a bundle of beans, eager to play and learn. As you'd expect from his breed, he is super bright and just so willing. His enthusiasm something gets the better of him and he little bit keen when it comes to treats and toys but his training has already started here at the centre and he's responding really well. He's already starting to learn the 'gentle' command, so helpful in muting that over-enthusiasm!
Angus is a champ with his halti, although he does at times still have a fair bit of strength behind him. We're looking for someone confident who can guide his energy in the right direction. He's sociable on his own terms and would rather take it slow with other canines, which is fine. Not everyone like to pile into new friendships straight away.
Angus does have his little worries. He digs occasionally, but only because he’s looking for that security he's been missing. Reassurance and love should see those worries vanish. After a while in kennels, he might also need a bit of a refresher on house manners.
With Angus's happy exuberance, he'd do best in an adult-only home. He's best as your one and only furry companion; he can socialise with other dogs if he chooses to but would prefer not to live with one at the moment, and cats aren't quite his cup of tea.
